Although we always opt for black/white and grey for a modern and easy look, it can sometimes look a bit dull. This winter we would like to inject some colour into the wardrobe, what colour is better than the refreshing shades of blue?
Not going too far from the winter dark colour palette, why not try this pale blue shirt with black doodling from Carven? Instant youthful look is guaranteed.
Another way to introduce shades of blue to your wardrobe is to play around details. This electric blue fox fur lined parka from Mr & Mrs Furs not only gives you that cool military vibe but also feels luxuriously warm.
Last but not least, add some denim to your look. Patchworked denim is still the talk of town. Try these Current Elliot ‘the fling’ boyfriend jeans, they are very stylish yet still ultra comfy. Here’s Feathers’ edit of our favourite blue pieces:
Here in Feathers, we are always after a fuss-free, effortless cool style. At the moment we are loving modern clean cuts and simple elegant shapes for outerwear, feminine details such as printed chiffon and embroideries for tops, and a statement patchwork-ed skirt with sequins and wool fabric.
Pair this striking Jil Sander Navy Hooded Jacket with a simple white T-shirt and a pair of boyfriend jeans. It is relaxed in a casual and approachable aesthetic, yet still being sophisticated with true comfort. Simply perfection.

With our upcoming illustration day at feathers, we have been thinking of how art can compliment the shopping experience. We found a perfect example of this with artist Julien Colombier creating his chalk masterpieces for La Printemps department store bourgeois Haussmann. Using coloured chalk on black backgrounds, the artist worked with designers such as DVF, Cacharel, and Paul & Joe for its 250th anniversary. Each display is exotic and represents distant travels from around the world to lure in customers into a fantasy world of luxury product.
We invite you all to come and visit us on the 18th July 2014 to the Knightsbridge store to see acclaimed illustrator and curator of the Fashion and Textile Museum Dennis Nothdruft create a series of drawings in a variety of media, using a free flowing ‘snapshot’ approach to capture the essence, energy and aesthetic of Feathers.
The Burstein family hope you can join them in store for drinks, whilst you observe this amazing talent capture through illustration the unique boutique shopping experience.
It is essential for every woman to have the must have staples in her wardrobe…… introducing the blazer! The blazer is especially good for working women, this is an intrinsic piece that can be nearly worn with EVERYTHING! To go with a smart pair of cigarette trousers or a distressed pair of denim jeans, a good blazer can make your outfit go leaps and bounds. Fashion blogger Alicia Lund from ‘Cheetah is the New Black’ has got it right with this Helmut Lang collarless, single button black blazer, Alicia has coordinated hers with a classic white tee and funky ripped shorts.
I remember being so nervous for my final interview with Robbie Myers (editor-in-chief at ELLE)… mainly just over what to wear. I did some major pinteresting, and googling for professional yet fashionable interview inspiration. I ended up wearing a dress and pumps however I wish I had owned this blazer at the time as it instantly gives me that extra dose of confidence whenever I slip it on. The sleek shape adds a touch of unexpected personality, and it makes any outfit look polished and let’s be honest, infinitely cooler. I have been pairing it with more casual separates recently to offset the business-y feel (party on the bottom!).
The madness that is Alexander Wang, has gone even crazier with this spoof video for T BY Alexander Wang featuring Chris Kattan as the Saturday Night Live Character Mango and rapper/choreographer Sharaya J. Have a look at the funny out takes and the final outcome of this bizarre collaboration.
