Another great day of shows….

Preen

Derek Jarmon’s post apocalyptic, new wave cult film ‘Jubilee’ provided the origins of Preen’s AW13 collection. Minimalist colours, black, red, and white accentuate the stark lines of the silhouettes. Peplum, zip detailing, crystal, silk Devore and pixilated leopard prints are key detailing throughout the collection….. Beautiful!

Mark Fast

Mark Fast went all out with his signature sexy knit panelling and created elegant long gowns in punchy colours like Fuschia pink and rouge….. you can never have too much fringing!

Jonathan Saunders

Jonathan Saunders show had patent leather corset panelling on silky dresses and laser cutout floral silk-satin stitched on top of tulle covered mohair coats fastened with patent skinny belts.

Paul Smith

Tailoring is bold & bright this AW13….. colour blocking at its best!

Mary Katrantzou

The new collection turns to landscape, inspired by the shadowy vistas of the turn of the century and photography of Edward Steichen. Katrantzou has focussed more on sculptural shape cutting than the prints this season.

Marios Schwab

Marios Schwab is renowned for dressing women with a strong powerful aesthetic and this season was no different.

Richard Nicoll

This season Nicoll played with textures layering chevron knit, croc print leather and colour block flannel wool…. one of his best collections to date!

SS12 Trend: Macro & Micro Mesh with Marios Schwab

The mesh trend is major this season and we’re currently really into it.

Both Marios Schwab and Ann Demeulemeester seem to be in agreement for S/S 12 and we have some amazing selects in store, if we may say so…

As featured in February’s Vogue Japan as well as a more recent STELLA magazine, Schwab’s macro-mesh dress (available in black as well as THE most beautiful shade of pale pink) make for the perfect edgy cocktail ensemble and both colours are here at Feathers!

In contrast, Schwab’s Spring/Summer collection displayed some incredible micro mesh including the ‘Power Dress’, available in both coral and mint. Similarly, Ann Demeulemeester’s collection was all about micro mesh layering. We’re in love with her mesh skirt and tank; dark, feminine and slightly bohemian.

Spotted: our Marios Schwab full-length dress on Sienna Miller, photographed by Ryan McGinley for the new issue of Vogue. We fell inlove with the American photographer’s fantastical portraits while flipping through our April issue this weekend.

LFW Day 3: Marios Schwab and Paul Smith

Day 3 kicked off with a compulsory coffee at the Tom’s Terrace Bar at Somerset House. Didn’t Feathers’ Assistant Buyer Ivan Lan look fabulous in his gold tie?

Once suitably caffeinated, we were off to go and see the wondrous Marios Schwab show. The runway, swathed with giant strips of gauze set the tone suitably for Schwab’s collection which experimented with light and darkness. Mainly focusing on summer dresses, his exploration of fabrics and the way in which they reacted to the light was exciting to see.

The sprinkling of Swarovski crystals added a beautiful dimension the perforated net fabrics..

The show-stopper straw hat which gave the collection a real film noir essence:

Last show of our day was Paul Smith. Modern in its simplicity, luxurious in its use of fabrics and covetable in its colours. Smith proved once again that he is totally in tune with what the modern woman seeks to wear in today’s world.

We loved the styling of the comfy pajama pants with tailored blazers and shirts:
