8-year loyal Feathers gal Echo Morgan is a keeper. Currently completing her MA at the Royal College, Echo spends her time away from Feathers exploring her history and herself through performance art. Inspired by 1960’s and 70’s feminist performance artists including Marina Abromovic, Carolee Schneemann and Yayoi Kusama, Echo’s performances act as excercises, exploring notions of trauma, identity and the [female] body.
For her most recent exhibition, Morgan took on action painting with her hair as paintbrush. The result is both an incredible abex painting, somewhere between Pollock and Motherwell, and an effectively active, physically enduring performance.
Enjoy the above short of the occasion with the narration by Echo herself.
Thanks for sharing Echo!
