Considering the cold weather here in London and in preparation for the weekend, we thought we would inspire you to visit an art gallery by focusing on a contemporary artist for today’s blog post.
May I introduce Shawn Huckins and his work ‘Paint Chip’s, a series of paintings reflecting american consumer culture exploring ‘color choice and its meaning in our daily lives. Mimicking the exact proportions, font, layout, and hues of miniature paint cards found at a nation-wide home improvement store, bands of color we may choose for our most intimate spaces—bedrooms, kitchens, family rooms—are an ideal stage to examine the everyday people and objects that occupy our world.’
We think Huckin’s has a similar style to that of Edward Hopper with his choice of inspiration, composition, medium and colour palette. Have a look and tell us what you think…..
