Alexander Wang invited New Yorkers to a ‘one-time-only undisclosed event’ digitally where the initial ‘open call’ revealed only a location and a time. Feather’s Restaurant Recommendation: Maggie Jones

At the weekend some of the Feather’s team went out for dinner to a restaurant called ‘Maggie Jones‘ for the first time. Tucked away on Old Court Place, High Street Kensington, this little gem was full of surprises…. It is a small quaint restaurant over 2 floors in which it is decorated floor to ceiling in a rustic theme with hanging wicker baskets containing dried flowers, wooden benches and vintage signs on the walls. As soon as you enter you are encapsulated in a romantic and warm informal setting, with friendly enthusiastic staff, and surrounded by the sounds of laughter and conversation from fellow happy customers. Over candle light we had an amazing meal with traditional English food, in particular our favourites were the crab salad for starter and for main the shoulder of pork with apple sauce! A novelty factor of Maggie Jones is that when you order your house wine for the table it comes in a Magnum, (which to begin with we were overwhelmed by the size) but luckily we were informed that you were only charged for how much you drank….. which was a huge relief to us! Carven inspired by ‘The Tenant’

Carven’s AW13 Pre Collection was inspired by the 1976 film ‘The Tenant’. The film is about ‘a quiet and inconspicuous man (Trelkovsky) who rents an apartment in France where the previous tenant committed suicide, and begins to suspect his landlord and neighbours are trying to subtly change him into the last tenant so that he too will kill himself‘.

Carven has based his vintage, somewhat awkward geeky look on the character of Stella, played by Isabella Adjani….“She’s creative in the way she mixes things together, she likes texture, and doesn’t care about the right shoe with the right bag.”
