J BRAND

Last week’s Grazia includes a feature on our favourite Denim label J Brand.

Speaking of which, the brand’s new ad campaign feels fresh and perfect starring Suvi Koponen, who in our opinion, has the BEST hair at the moment. We’ve gotten really into her after seeing Craig McDean and Jane How’s recent shoot in September’s Karlie Kloss-covered British Vogue.

SONIA RYKIEL

Portrait by Andy Warhol, 1986.

This morning the lovely Sophie from Sonia Rykiel paid us a visit and spoke us through the new collection.

From Yak yarn to Intarsia techniques, inside-outs and signature stripes, we love the French designer.

She’s given a Surrealist touch to the Pre-Fall collection we currently have in-store. See Dali’s Mae West lips as inspiration here and here (and more to come)…

An icon, Sonia has a fire inside; a French force, provocative and tasteful. We can’t help but adore her for the branded sex toys she created which sit alongside main line garments in Paris. Power to Women.

Check out her fabulous Birthday show here!

Feathers Loves Helmut Lang Journal

Great brand. Great Blog. We check regularly for weekly inspiration.

These are a few of our favourite bits from the journal as well as some of our own pieces from Autumn/Winter including Creative Directors Michael and Nicole Colovos’ favourite grey leather jacket from the collection as well as this long black number… #showpiece!

We too happen to be listening to Cowboy Junkies’ version of Sweet Jane in the shop ;)

Feathers in Taipei

Kickin’ it in our new DM’s, Cecilia from our Art department took her summer vacation in Taipei for a bit of Eastern relaxation. She shares her wicked itinerary with us.

Day 1

National Palace Museum, which houses the largest collection of ancient Chinese artefacts and artworks. Absolutely incredible.

Taipei 101. Just for the view.

At night we had dinner in Raohe Market – the oldest night market in the city. Ultra cheap and delicious eats.

Day 2

If you’re up for a bit of a hike and some zen, check out Beitou, famous for their hot springs and National parks.

Day 3

This day I reserved for a bit of shopping indulgence. My favourite was a small boutique called Tuan Tuan that reminded me of a certain shop here in Knightsbridge ;)

Day 4

Fort San Domingo. Built by the Spanish in the 1600’s, this was originally a wooden fort and a beautiful site once destroyed but now rebuilt from photographs as a museum today.

Day 5

Sun Moon Lake. More Zen. I think the name says it all.

We hope you enjoy Cecilia’s lovely pics. And have a look at our latest SHOP THE TREND for some city break outfit ideas!

Monday Mary

There’s nothing like a digital print for a Monday morning. London’s darling Mary Katrantzou has been flying off our shelves before we even managed to finish changing our Spring/Summer collections over to Autumn/Winter.

White horse repititions and pastel pigments: we’re particularly into the designer’s ‘Powdy dress’ in jersey.

Grab it before it’s gone.

Olympic Spirit

We’re well into the Olympics here at Feathers. We can’t seem to get enough of the swimming. Give us Phelps any. day. It’s been incredible to watch his most recent races.

And talk about swimming…Ye Shiwen, the 16 year old Chinese World Record Breaker. I think we’ve watched that finish about 15 times over. Incredible.

Anyway, while we may not all be super athletes, we can try.

Summer’s Still Here

It’s the Olympics. It’s scorching hot in London and our sale is slowly coming to an end as the new Autumn/Winter stock slow makes its way on our shelves. But as the warm weather has only recently approached us, we’re still feeling quite inspired by anything that says summer.

Today we’re loving these pictures by Nina Walbecq of Feathers’ gal Steph featured on thepop.com.

Summer’s still going. Grab a few final pieces from the season while you can!
