Nothing says summer holidays and distant lands, like a punchy tropical print to get you in the mood for hot climates and a fruity cocktail. Bold botanical prints are a big trend for SS14, with brands like Etro, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou and Emma Cook busting with clashing prints. We know that bright colours and statement prints can be a little scary so we have selected some street style photographs to help give you some inspiration. During fashion week, we had the pleasure of commissioning artist Kate Grove to come in and produce a free hand illustration on Feather’s shop window inspired by the beautiful prints within our SS14 collection. Kate’s main source came from the Japanese floral designs of Alexander McQueen to create an organic motif to get us into the Spring time mood. If you have not yet seen the Moschino AW14 collection…. its a MUST SEE! Since their anniversary the brand has upped the anti and gone all out with their tongue ‘n’ cheek sensibility with the help of Jeremy Scott. Taking the essence of the brand and incorporating consumer culture in the form of McDonalds, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Budweiser, etc it was an explosion of colour, graphics, gold and leather! Moschino has received a huge thumbs up from high profile fans, whom are already wearing the AW14 collection such as Anna Della Russo and Rita Ora.

If you have not heard already, congratulations to one of our most loved brands, the creative duo Peter Pilotto for winning the British Fashion Council VOGUE Designer Fashion Fund Award 2014. They were up against a tough crowd including Mary Katrantzou, Emilia Wickstead, Henry Holland, Osman and Zoe Jordan all of which were in the running to win the £200,000 grant and mentoring in order to help the designers transition into a global brand.
“Christopher and Peter are deserved winners of this year’s fund award. They have remained true to their vision of a print and colour focused brand but have managed to expand and grow the business to a level where they can now compete on an international stage. It’s a pleasure to be able to support them” – Alexandra Shulman, Editor of British Vogue and Chair of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund
Caroline Rush, Chief Executive, British Fashion Council, commented: “Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos are an incredibly dynamic design team, who since launching their label in 2007, have won the hearts and minds of the industry and the public with their vibrant colours and unforgettable prints. They demonstrated they are a thriving fashion label with a great vision to take the next step in building a global designer fashion brand.”
